Step 1 (basic)
First you need to download and instal Chatzilla, in your FireFox browser go to Tools > Add-ons and put Chatzilla in the search field. Download and instal.
Open Chatzilla by going to Tools > Chatzilla.
You need to type: /server irc.p2p-network.net
A new tab should open and in there type: /join #anonamouse.net
Step 2 (if you are an IRC person and want to register your nickname with the network - NOT a must, only step 1 is a must)
You need to type: /server irc.p2p-network.net
Now you need wait 180 seconds before you type: /msg NickServ REGISTER password email
(the password should be one you choose yourself, and the same with your email address)
Right click on the irc.p2p-network.net tab and choose 'Open this network at start-up'.
At the top of the window click on Chatzilla > preferences
This should open another window. Click on irc.p2p-network.net on the left hand side then on the Lists tab. This is what you should see -
Where it says Auto-perform click on Add....
Type: /msg NickServ GHOST nickname password
(obviously change nickname and password to those you registered earlier)
Click Add again and type /nick nickname
Add again type /msg NickServ IDENTIFY password
Add one last time type /join #anonamouse.net
Click Apply and ok.
Now you should be all set up to automatically come to our main chat channel when you open Chatzilla. To prove it, Close and re open Chatzilla and I will see you there – don't forget to say 'Hi' | | mIRC Setup |
1. Download and install mIRC.
2. Run it. You get a welcome window - press continue.
3. At mIRC Options, input your MyAnonamouse username/site name, email address (doesn't have to be a real one) ,your first option for a nick, and your second option (in case the first is taken).
4. On the left side of the window, click on Servers, and then select add. As description, put something like MyA or Myanonamouse, for the server put irc.p2p-network.net and press add.
5. Under Servers, you'll see Options. Check Connect on Startup and Reconnect on Disconnection and UNCHECK Pop up connect dialog on startup.
6. Press OK on the bottom of this window to close it, and then press the
lightning icon in the top left corner.
7. After you are connected, the mIRC Favorites window pops up. Press add; in that window, type in #anonamouse.net, check off Join on connect and press OK.
8. Back in the mIRC Favorites window, UNCHECK on the bottom Pop-up favorites on connect.
9. Close your mIRC completely now and re-start it again.
10. Press continue. It should have connected to the irc.p2p-network.net server automatically and joined the #anonamouse.net channel. If not, re-do one or a few steps as mentioned above. | | MyAnonamouse IRC Tutorial for the Pidgin Client |

The first thing you have to do is to setup your account.
Go to Accounts->Manage Accounts, and select Add
Set the Protocol to IRC,
Enter Username Use your myanonamouse.net username.
Enter server as irc.p2p-network.net
Leave Password blank as you will be using it later.
If you wish to see yourself under a different name as your site nick, set that under Alias.
The Advanced tab can be left blank.
Now, you will have to get onto the main chat channel.
Go to Buddies->Add Chat, and you will be presented with a window.
Select your account as created previously
in Channel enter #anonamouse.net.
The Group can be chosen if you wish to organize your IRC rooms.
You can tick both of the boxs so you will be logged into the channel at all times
Click the Add button
In the Buddy List you will see #anonamouse.net
Double Click on it you will now be chatting in the Main chat room
Now we should register our nicks, to prevent others from using it.
Click the global Tab and type /msg NickServ REGISTER password email
where password is the password you want, and email is any email (it is not required)
Now we return to Manage Account, and click on your account, and click Modify Account.
Enter your password, and tick Remember password if you so wish. If you do so, the client will auto-login when you startup the client.
Done! click on the #anonamouse.net Tab and chat away!
